The Secret Behind The Current Deadly Israel-Gaza Battle

Over the past week, news headlines were hot with details of the bloody Israel-Gaza battle tied to massive man-slaughter and great bloodshed.

The fierce clash between the two has raised questions among many, like the root of the fight and what’s fueling it further?

This post will cover the battle from the beginning and bring to light why Israel and Gaza militants are wrestling down each other.

Most importantly, it will shed light on the battle’s heavy armory, the death toll and reveal the winning side of the fight.

Here’s all you need to know.

How the Fight Started

The conflict exploded on May 10 (2021)after weeks of tensions in Jerusalem among the police, some Israelis and Palestine protesters.

The tensions resulted from a hot dispute over East Jerusalem, which is predominantly Palestinian.

The conflict escalated when a Supreme court ruling on the eviction of Palestinian families from East Jerusalem was postponed, which was expected on May 10. But that’s just a piece of the puzzle that ignited the fierce fight.

The Palestinians stone-throwing protests reached the peak when Israeli police prevented them from assembling in one of the oldest City’s gates, which has been their year-in-year-out norm during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The Israeli police unleashed their move to tackle the protests by raiding one of the supposedly most sacred Islam’s site, Aqsa Mosque and fired rubber bullets and stun grenades.

This act enraged the militants in Gaza (a city in Palestine) and provoked them to fire rockets aiming at Jerusalem.

As a result, Israel was filled with fury and decided to respond by deadly airstrikes on Gaza, and the battle was on.

The Heavy Weapons Employed by Both Sides

The Hamas Fighting Weapons

Amid the lethal combat between Israel and Palestine, high-damage weapons are in play.

The Hamas (Islamist Militant group in Palestine) are equipped with a huge armory of crude rockets enhanced for long-range attacks.

This has been aided by strong support from allies — including Iran (According to the Israeli and Hamas officials).

Since the outburst of the intense conflict, the militant group has fired more than 3000 rockets targeting cities and towns in Israel. This has awakened an imminent threat in cities like Tel Aviv, among others.

To top up their rocket attacks, Hamas uses secret navy commandoes who launch attacks from the sea and target energy facilities or densely packed areas.

Israel’s forces released a video of them destroying Hamas vessels suspected as a threat of attacks in the Israeli waters.

Israel’s Defense System in The Battle

Israel uses a solid and complicated anti-missile defense system and fighter jets to respond to the attacks from the Hamas.

The anti-missile system is called the Iron Dome. It functions to intercept incoming rockets and precision-guided munitions before reaching the target.

The system is highly reliable and has given the Israeli forces an upper hand in the violence.

The dome shoots up guided missiles to counter the rockets fired by the Hamas before damage is inflicted on the targets.

Who’s getting Killed? — Who’s Winning?

From the summary of the weapons used by both parties in the battle, it’s almost obvious that the Israeli’s forces are on the winning end.

A blend of airstrikes from fighter jets that aim at strategic targets and a sophisticated anti-missile system makes the Hamas no match for Israel.

The Hamas are using crude rockets that most often miss the targets. As a result, Israel’s attacks are more brutal and yield significant damage.

From May 10 (2021)to the evening of May 17(2021), malicious attacks from Israeli forces have slaughtered at least 212 Palestinians, with 61 being children.

On the other end, missiles from the militant group raining upon towns and cities in Israel has aroused fear and killed at least ten people, including two children.

The malicious airstrikes by the Israelis have raised international criticism and concerns due to a scaled-up civilian death toll in Gaza.

However, Israel insists that it takes measures to prevent slaughtering civilians. According to Israeli strategists, the main aim of the ruthless attacks is tamping down Hama’s infrastructure, including their underground tunnels and the vast network of rocket factories.

The underground tunnels are a transit system popularly known as “the metro” by the Israeli military.
